SUSTAINABLE TOGETHER

After four years of regular operation, the REGIonal Network for Energy Efficiency project, REGINEE

Climate protection is certainly one of the most discussed topics at the moment. It has long been known that industry needs to take action here too. As a member of the REGINEE project, we want to contribute to climate protection and have optimized various processes with the help of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the VEA. On the one hand, rapid energy savings were achieved by adapting operational processes and redesigning the company’s lighting. On the other hand, major investments such as the purchase of a more efficient mill in material processing have had a major impact on internal energy consumption. As Argelith, we want to use our energy management to make our processes more efficient and further reduce the associated energy requirements in the future.

The initiators of the energy networks are the German government and more than 20 trade associations and business organizations, including the Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The network sponsors of REGINEE Osnabrück and Emsland are the VEA and the IHK. The central idea of REGINEE is the saving of energy and the associated avoidance of CO2 emissions.

The advantage for participating companies is, on the one hand, the analysis of existing processes with energy consulting by the network members, including final monitoring, and, on the other hand, the communication and exchange between the participating companies. Well-developed process solutions in the energy sector can be adopted by other companies or adapted to individual needs.

After four years, the first part of the REGINEE project has now been completed, with savings of 37 GWh of energy and 108,000 tons of C02 by the 19 participating companies in Osnabrück and Emsland. This amount of electricity would be enough for around 12,000 two-person households every year.

The REGINEE Osnabrück+ project continues

The REGINEE Osnabrück+ project is already entering its second round for many companies in 2020. Over another four years, the participating companies will try to further improve their processes on an energy basis. The first meeting will take place at our premises in Wehrendorf. We are pleased to be able to contribute to sustainability and environmental protection.

“We are delighted that almost all of the companies involved in the REGINEE project have decided to join the follow-up project REGINEE Osnabrück+ and improve their processes and workflows for a further four years.”
